FINANCIAL LITERACY SERIES

Gaining Financial Stability for a Healthy Future

Your Journey Begins Here

There is an acronym, CREAM, which stands for “Cash Rules Everything Around Me.” While in today’s ever-evolving economic system it may not literally be cash that rules everything around you, financial stability remains the foundation for a healthy future.

Once you begin to understand that every decision you make carries a financial impact on your personal life or professional career, you will naturally begin to pause and consider the consequences before making critical decisions.

For example:

  • Choosing between a hamburger or steak may seem like a simple health decision, but it also affects your finances due to cost differences.

  • Who you marry can significantly impact your financial life because spouses may have very different views on handling income and spending.

  • Your career choice determines your earning potential and lifestyle.

  • Whether you start saving for retirement early, later, or not at all will shape your future financial independence — including whether you will have the freedom to work only when you choose.

Financial Literacy for Business & Ministry

If you own a business, you may love serving your clients, but without a solid understanding of your finances, your business will struggle to survive.

Likewise, if you serve as a financial executive in a nonprofit, you understand the importance of good stewardship in managing limited resources so the organization can fulfill its mission effectively.

K. W. Brown Ministries, Inc. is committed to holistic ministry — ensuring individuals are not only spiritually nourished but also equipped with the financial tools needed to steward the resources God provides.

DR. KIMBERLY BROWN WILLIAMS

With a heart to help those she is called to minister to through her God-given gifts, warm spirit, and infectious personality, Dr. Kimberly M. Brown Williams, or Dr. K as she is affectionately known, continuously works to make the world around her a better place. Kimberly credits receiving her foundation in community support and pouring into others to her parents who have displayed a strong sense of community and giving back. These pay-it-forward principles continue to hold key positions in Kimberly’s life as she lives by them daily.

A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Dr. Kimberly serves as the Executive Pastor of The Mount Global Fellowship of Churches and Chief Financial Officer of Mt. Operations LLC. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Science Degree, both in Accounting, from North Carolina A&T State University and Michigan State University, respectively. After spending two years working in public accounting with Big Four Accounting Firm, Deloitte & Touche, LLP in Charlotte, North Carolina, Kimberly felt it appropriate to return home to join the staff at the church her father has been graced to lead, The Mount. In 2019, she completed the Doctorate of Strategic Leadership Program at Regent University and most recently earned her license as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Virginia.

Dr. Kimberly enjoys participating in the community work her church is involved in, being a part of Visionaries for Change, a philanthropic organization designed to

support charitable causes in the black community, and serving as the Treasurer on the board of Envision, Lead, Grow, a nonprofit organization instilling entrepreneurial skills into young girl bosses with the hope to eradicate challenges plaguing an underserved population.

Dr. K also has a passion for teaching financial literacy skills as well as helping single women navigate what can be a lonely and challenging life season. In 2023, she created Solace, a community for single women that meets monthly for bible study and fosters a sisterhood founded on Christ, personal growth, accountability, comradery, and support. Continuing to develop self is an important and ongoing facet of Kimberly’s daily life as she believes you should never stop learning and growing.

Dr. Kimberly is married to the love of her life, Linwood Williams. The two welcomed their daughter, Kaylyn, in 2023 and their son, Lenox, in 2025. When not working, Dr. K enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, planning events, or sharing serene moments with her husband on the lake. Kimberly is excited to see all that God will do through their union to help progress His Kingdom.
